Introduction

~~ The Angel Within ~~

The Angel Within is 7-week, home-study, practical, daily inspirational and sometimes funny motivational program for women designed to be used by a cashier, a stay-at-home Mom, a military wife, or a woman with a Masters degree in psychology.

It begins with Self-Recognition---understanding why you think, feel and act as you do and concludes with Self-Motivation, the daily ability to motivate not only yourself but those around you.

Why I wrote The Angel Within

“What would you do with your life,” I asked her, “If you could do anything you want to?”

With puzzled surprise she replied “Why, I don’t know. No-one has ever asked me that before.”

The bruised cashier who won’t look at you.

The otherwise good mother who suspects her husband is a little too fond of their eight-year-old daughter, Jennifer.

The traditional housewife who has never questioned why she is a traditional housewife.

The professional woman who won’t reach back a hand to another female suffocating just below the glass ceiling.

The female doctor who’s practice fails in a rural community because traditional men and their wives won’t “go to no female doctor”.

The shrouded Muslim women who are not allowed to drive and are beaten if they complain about it, or spend too much money for groceries, or if they ask why a man can have five wives but a woman can have only one husband.

The Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints mother who thinks it is an honor the head of the sect wants to marry her twelve-year-old daughter.

The female Baptist who says God has called her to preach and the men at her church reply “You won’t do it here.”

The meek man who is not allowed to have an opinion because the control-freak wife needs to control something and has decided it will be him and her daughters who will grow up and become control freaks.

The male-controlled world where men still make almost all of the decisions that affect the lives of women because the men must insure the sex and the soup.

The silent women who allow men to control the world.

The sudden Light in the eyes of a woman in the back row at a Motivational seminar who stands up and declares “You’re right!  I AM fearlessly and wonderfully made!”

The housewife-mother who says “I love being a housewife and mother but I will march with you gals in the street to protect your rights to be the first female president of the United States."

The serenity and help of free men who know until all men and women are free to be and do what they want to be or do as long as they don’t interfere in the rights of others … until then such men know none are really free.

The flash of freeing awareness of the housewife in Iraq who throws off her shroud and sings:

“This my dance designed by none save me.

This my road I ripped from destiny.

This my song I sing simplistically.”

These are a few of the reasons I wrote The Angel Within.
